In our reading from the Gospel of Mark this morning we find Jesus in the closing days of the last week of his life here on earth as a man.

Gracious God, open our minds to understanding, teach our hearts to love, and strengthen our wills to carry out the mission of your Word.  Amen. New Testament Reading:   Ephesians 2:1-10

Father, as we turn now to the Bible, we pray for your help in speaking and in listening and in understanding. Grant us grace, we pray, so that beyond the

Holy God, your people turn to your Word for truth and guidance in every age. Send your Holy Spirit to inspire our understanding of your Scripture, read and interpreted today.
